can you wear a shirt UNDER a halter neckline?

ok... so i have ALL these very low cut, empire waist, halter tops. And i love them dearly. I just dont think they are appropriate to wear to a family gathering.

Would it be ok to put a spaghetti strap cami underneath a halter top?! Or does that just look funny? how about a regular solid t-shirt? Something to add a lil layer and take away some of the... well.... skankness of it all.

When and where to wear halter tops.

Now it may not have been a surprise that you were capable of wearing a halter during the summer, but what about during autumn and winter? Many halter nowadays are made of acrylic fiber, the same fabric that sweaters are made of and believe it or not, halters make great layering pieces. You may decide to wear a halter over a tee-shirt of a contrasting or complimentary color and a nice cropped sweater over it during the autumn. During the winter, you could do the same, but instead wear a halter over a turtle neck or long sleeved shirt instead. Some halters that would be appropriate for the colder seasons would be ones with a argyle pattern and colors more in the earth tones. There are also vests that are in the style of halters and these also look chic over long sleeved shirts.
