How long can I cook cocktail meatballs in the crock-pot?
I am having an x-mas get-together tomorrow around 10:30- I'm going to make cocktail meatballs and I want them to cook in the sauce awhile to really absorb the flavor, but I don't know how long is TOO long in the crock-pot....? Can I start making them now, should I do it overnight...? What do you recommend?

Also, they are frozen meatballs (Since that seems to make a difference)
It really depends not on the meatball, but on the sauce. Some sauces will burn after too many hours, especially tomato sauces that come pre-made (jar spaghetti sauce) Also if the meatball is homemade prolonged cooking may lead to the meatball falling apart. If they are the pre-made frozen type you could cook them till heck freezes over and they aren't going to change one bit. So with that being said, I recommend no more than 6 hours on the low setting and no more than 4 on the high. Check them periodically and make sure the sauce is not burning, if you find them done then switch the setting to "keep warm" and forget about them. I
